Liberal Democrats in Warrington have been out in the centre of town with Cllr Bob Barr, the Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington South, listening to what people think are the big issues. They held a Street Stall at Market Gate on Saturday.
The Conservatives have just announced that anyone needing long term home care will face the prospect of losing the right to pass on any assets over £100,000, including their home, to their family.
The Liberal Democrats have announced that they will invest nearly £7 billion in schools and colleges over the next parliament. The funding would reverse cuts to frontline school and college budgets, protect per pupil funding in real terms and ensure no school loses out from the National Funding Formula. It will be paid for by reversing the cuts to corporation tax.
The NHS and Social Care would receive an extra £6 billion a year from the Liberal Democrats to plug funding gaps in these services. It would be paid for by putting a penny on income tax.
Warrington Liberal Democrats have selected Cllr Bob Barr and Cllr Stefan Krizanac to stand as the candidates for Warrington South and Warrington North in the General Election. Both these candidates stood in the 2015 election.
