The Liberal Democrats have announced that they will invest nearly £7 billion in schools and colleges over the next parliament. The funding would reverse cuts to frontline school and college budgets, protect per pupil funding in real terms and ensure no school loses out from the National Funding Formula. It will be paid for by reversing the cuts to corporation tax. http://www.warringtonlibdems.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/School-Children.jpg
Cllr Bob Barr, the Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington South said, "Children in Warrington are being taught in overcrowded classes by overworked teachers but Theresa May doesn't care. While funding per pupil is set to see the biggest cuts in a generation, billions of pounds are being spent on divisive plans to expand grammars and free schools. We will reverse crippling cuts to school budgets to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
A report by the National Audit Office has found that school budgets will be slashed by £3 billion in real terms by 2019/20 under current Government plans - the equivalent of 8% per pupil. It has also estimated that up to 60% of existing http://www.warringtonlibdems.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/Books.jpgschool buildings are in urgent need of repair and it would cost £6.7 billion to return them to satisfactory or better conditions."

Cllr Stefan Krizanac, the Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington North added, "A landslide for the Conservatives would allow Theresa May to take parents across the country for granted and cut our schools to the bone. Only the Liberal Democrats can provide the strong opposition Britain needs to stand up for communities in Warrington.
Headteachers and Governing Bodies in our town have been outraged by the way our town has lost out from changes to the Funding Formula. £1 ¼ Billion of our total investment will ensure no school here loses out from these changes."
